You an see the darndest things if you look closely, if the light is just right
can you say flat?
Yes, there is a "they": the captains of finance, their lobbyists, and allies among leading politicians of both parties, who together destroyed an American regulatory system that had been functioning splendidly for most of the six decades since it was enacted in the 1930s.

The big cop-out in much of what has been written about the banking meltdown has been the argument by those most complicit that there was "enough blame to go around" and that no institution or individual should be singled out for accountability. "How could we have known?" is the refrain of those who continue to pose as all-knowing experts. "Everybody made mistakes," they say.Nonsense. This was a giant hustle that served the richest of the rich and left the rest of us holding the bag, a life-altering game of musical chairs in which the American public was the one forced out. Worst of all, legislators from both political parties we elect and pay to protect our interests from the pirates who assaulted us instead changed our laws to enable them.
Scheer really nailed it, we the people, mainly the middle class were held up by the robber baron banks led by Goldman Sachs. If this makes sense to you pass it along and keep the discussion going. It's life or death for the middle class. That's you and me.
If we as a people learn anything from this crash, however, it should be that there are no adults watching the store, only a tiny elite of self-interested multimillionaires and billionaires making decisions for the rest of us. As long as we cede that power to them, we can expect to continue getting bilked.
Outgoing Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) warned Tuesday that an interim appointment of Elizabeth Warren to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau "jeopardizes the existence" of the nascent agency.
This is more proof that most senators and representatives are voting for business not the consumer. EVERYONE believes that Warren is the best voice to represent the voters/citizens but when it looks likely that she will be appointed, the heat is on our so-called elected officials from Big Business. This is proof positive that Elisabeth Warren is the right person for the job. Big Business is scarred of her. Call your congressman and let them know that you want Warren to head the CFPB.
Keith Olbermann named the entire media his "worst person in the world" Monday for what he called a failure to report that there were two mosques in the World Trade Center before the 9/11 attacks, even as they covered the controversy over the proposed Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero.
My purpose for this post is to point out that while HufPo prides itself on their "reporting" they are actually just as bad as the rest of the Big Media. We all have to be mindful of how we use our words. It's the Islamic Center, not a Mosque and really should be seen as a symbol of religious freedom and the principles that the USA are built upon.
The White House is considering tapping Harvard professor and consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren to be the interim director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a source familiar with the White House deliberations told HuffPost.
Warren is absolutely the right person for this job, so don't blow it Barack. Act now before it's too late. If you agree pass this on!
"When NBC talked about the last combat troops are gone, they made it sound like everything is basically over," he said, after escorting a 19-truck convoy through a part of northern Iraq where roadside bombs and mortar attacks are still a danger.
"To us it was like a slap in the face, because we are still here ... we are still going in harm's way every time we leave out of the gate," Manuel said at a U.S. military base, Camp Speicher, near Saddam Hussein's home town of Tikrit.
On August 31, the U.S. military formally declared an end to its combat mission in Iraq, 7-1/2 years after the invasion that removed Saddam and led to sectarian warfare and a fierce insurgency in which tens of thousands of Iraqis were killed. More than 4,400 U.S. soldiers have been killed since 2003.
This is testimony to the fact that the Irag war is still going on and more importantly should be a MAJOR WARNING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE that we need get out of Afghanistan ASAP. If we can't end the war in Iraq, how do we hope to do that in Afghanistan. We need to bring our troops home and take care of our own now. What does everyone think about this? I am curious to know.....
you can almost see the the little devils running around reeking havoc
some kind of creosote seeping out makes for a Minor White light
there's always something lurking out there. i hear there's a south swell heading our way. finally....
